Where exactly
Creta Hills is in Nea Magnisia, Rethymno, on the northern side of Crete. The site sits in open countryside with unobstructed views, not inside a built-up strip - but it is not remote either.
Getting there
- 10-15 minutes from the city of Rethymno.
- Approximately 1 hour from Chania Airport.
- Approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from Heraklion Airport.
- 5-10 minutes from organised beaches on the north coast.
Two international airports within roughly an hour is unusual, and it matters commercially. Crete has three civilian airports and a dense network of air and sea connections, which means the catchment for guests is not tied to a single carrier, a single route or a single season.
The new BOAK national highway, one of the island's major infrastructure projects, runs along this coast and will shorten these journeys further.
Why this matters for a rental
Distance from the airport is one of the strongest predictors of how a short-let property performs. Guests booking a week will accept an hour; they will think twice about two. Being inside an hour of Chania, and only slightly more from Heraklion, keeps Creta Hills inside the range where most visitors to Crete are willing to book.
Being 5-10 minutes from organised beaches does the same for the daily experience.
Privacy without isolation
The combination is the point: privacy, nature and direct access in the same place. Far enough out that the view is of olive groves and sea rather than neighbours, close enough in that dinner in Rethymno is a short drive rather than an expedition.
